For Our All School Reunion and Heritage Days!
The Villisca Community Betterment Association, in partnership with VAFA, are planning
an action packed celebration! Plan to be there!
To kick off the weekend events the VAFA Board will be hosting a Sip and Snack gathering at 113 North 2nd Avenue on Friday, July 3rd, from 5:00 – 7:00. Tents and chairs will be set up with complimentary beverages and snacks provided. This will be a chance to sit and catch up with fellow classmates, alumni and friends in a relaxing atmosphere.

*Be sure to visit the VAFA table at the park on Saturday morning! There you can visit with VAFA Board members, join the organization, purchase Villisca High School coasters, and perhaps find a surprise or two!
*We encourage classes to have a float in the parade!

Starting in 2009, VAFA took on the responsibility of planning an All-School Reunion celebration during the Villisca Heritage Days every four years. Here are some pics from our most recent all-school reunion that was held July 1st-3rd, 2022.
Sponsored by the Villisca Alumni and Friends Association, eight people were inducted into the first class of the Hall of Fame in a ceremony held during the 2009 All-School Reunion. In 2013 seven more people were inducted and four more were inducted in 2017.
VHS family and friends were invited to nominate individuals with a written explanation of the outstanding achievements justifying the candidate’s possible induction. To be eligible a nominee must have graduated from VHS or served VHS prior to 1989. The achievements could be in – but not limited to – the field of sports, music, academics, or achievements following graduation. An emphasis was placed on alumni but former teachers, coaches, and supportive citizens of the Villisca School system were also considered.
The VAFA Hall of Fame has recently been moved to the Community Building. Thanks to board members Andrew Focht and Jim Robinson and VAFA member Ryan Focht for helping with this.
