We are excited about what is planned for your All School Reunion “Connecting our Past, Present, & Future” and hope you will join us in Villisca Friday, June 30 through Sunday, July 2, 2017. We welcome and invite you to relive old memories, visit classmates and friends plus take part in the many scheduled events. This event is sponsored by the Villisca Alumni & Friends Association (VAFA) working with the Villisca Community Betterment Association who sponsors the annual Villisca Heritage Days.

Friday, June 30
11:00 am to 2:00 pm – City Hall’s 80th Anniversary Open House
1:00 to 4:00 pm – Memorabilia Display at the Flower Basket Building (located 2 doors south of “The Bank Building”
1:00 to 5:00 pm – Swimming Pool Open
3:00 to 5:00 pm – Registration; event program, lanyard wth name tag, catered meal ticket, and pre-ordered shirts and caps picked up at this time. VHS Grad Books 1884 to 2013 will be available for purchase.
Food – Local Food Businesses available for dining during the afternoon and evening.
Saturday, July 1
7:00 to 9:00 am – Breakfast: by Villisca Lions Club at the Community Center plus local Food Businesses.
8:00 am to 3:00 pm – Registration; program of events, lanyard with name tag, catered meal ticket, and pre-ordered shirts and caps picked up at this time. VHS Grad books 1884 to 2013 will be available for purchase.
8:00 am to 8:00 pm – Memorabilia Display at the Flower Basket Building (2 doors south of “The Bank Building”
9:30 am – Parade Lineup: Gather at the Enarson Elementary School, family and class floats encouraged.
10:00 am – Parade: Begins with the Grand Marshalls being the newly inducted Bluejay Hall of Fame members.
10:30 am until gone – Walking Tacos at the Hair Cut Corner
10:30 am until gone – bacon wrapped bratwursts in the park by the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
11:00 am to Noon – Book Signing by Norma Fast at the Library – “Shirley, Goodness Mercy” – a children’s Christian Book.
11:00 am to 1:00 pm – Lunch; by the Strand Lutheran Church at the Community Center plus local Food Businesses.
11:00 am to 1:00 pm – The Armory will be open.
1:00 pm – Disc Golf Tournament east of the ball fields by the Enarson Elementary Building.
1:00 to 1:20 pm – Courtyard Dedication at the Courtyard on south side of the Middle School.
1:30 pm – VHS Trophy Auction; Held in the park, Itemized listing sheets provided, Steve Bergren Auctioneer.
3:00 pm – Alumni Choir Rehearsal in the Methodist Church Basement
Other Afternoon Activities:
* Lions Club Ferris Wheel & Bounce House in the park
* Food Snacks in the park
* Classic Car & Tractor Display after the Parade
* Axe Murder house open 1 to 4 pm
* Swimming Pool open 1 to 5 pm
5:00 to 6:00 pm – Serving of VAFA sponsored Catered Meal; (reservation required) this is a sit-down dinner prepared and served by Villisca Foods at the Bank Building.
5:00 to 7:00 pm – BBQ by Community Betterment at Community Center
9:00 pm – Street Dance; sponsored by Poor Boyz with live music by the Blue Dog Band on South 3rd Avenue.
Sunday, July 2
8:00 to 10:00 am – Registration; program of events, lanyard with name tag, and pre-ordered shirts and caps picked up at this time — also sale of any leftover shirts and caps. VHS Grad books will be available for purchase.
10:00 am – Church in the Park: Interchurch Worship Service (at the Methodist Church if inclement weather)
10:00 am – Bluejay Classic Golf Tournament: 4 – person best ball, pre-registration required, lunch available at the Villisca Country club. Contact Andrew Focht – Cell Phone 712-621-1797.
10:30 am to 12:30 pm – Brunch: By the Advent Christian Church at the Community Center.
1:00 pm – Alumni Choir Rehearsal in the Methodist Church Basement.
1:30 to 3:00 pm – Come & Go Reception with former Villisca Schools Faculty and Staff at the Middle School.
1:30 to 3:00 pm – Alumni Decade Gatherings: by designated rooms at the Middle School – all w/AC.
Other Afternoon Activities:
* Axe Murder House open from 1 to 4 pm
* Swimming Pool open from 2 to 8 pm
4:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Memorial Draft Horse Pull; Location will be South 3rd Ave.
6:30 pm to Dusk – Food by the Villisca PEO at the Football Field.
6:30 pm – Evening Entertainment at the Football Field:
* Music by Chris Gibler beginning at 6:30 pm until dusk
* VHS Alumni Choir Performing at 7:30 pm
* Bluejay Hall of Fame Ceremony at 8:00 pm
* Fantastic Fireworks Display by Night Vision at dusk
Lawn / Bag Chairs – You may want to consider bringing these for use in the park and for the parade.
